Maggie's Biscuits By:contributor Ingredients 4 oz butter 1 tablespoon Golden Syrup 8 oz self-raising flour Butter icing to sandwich the biscuits together Method Sift the flour into a large bowl. Melt the butter and syrup in a pan (do not allow to boil). Pour into the sifted flour and mix to form a paste. Pre-heat oven to a medium temperature - I use a fan oven and heat it to 150 C. Grease a baking tray(s). Take a dessert-spoon of the paste, roll it in your hands to form a ball and place on the tray. Once you have used up all the paste, use a fork to slightly flatten the biscuits. Place in the oven and cook until golden brown. Cool on wire rack. Ice together with butter icing. |
